Description

The Virtual Villagers series of games are set on the fictitious island of Isola where a lost tribe has landed on its shores. The little villagers have food needs, housing needs, technologies to research and diseases to fight. The player needs to nurture and care for the displaced tribe by teaching them the basics of survival. As the village grows and prospers, the villagers become curious about their mysterious island home and the secrets it holds.

The simulation progresses in real time even when the game is not running. Villagers can die due to lack of food or neglect unless the game is paused before ending a session. Once there are no more living villagers, the game is over.

Background & History

The Virtual Villagers series launched in 2005 with the release of Village Sim for Palm OS devices. In July 2006, a PC version Virtual Villagers: A New Home was released, followed in February 2007 by the second chapter in the series titled Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children.
