Super Collapse! II is the third title in the Collapse! series of games developed by GameHouse, the internal studio for RealNetworks, Inc. Game play is similar to its predecessors, with enhanced features and new play modes.

Like the Collapse! titles that preceeded, the core game play of Super Collapse! II involves clicking on colored blocks in groupings of three or more to remove them from a board, score points, and advance through more challenging levels. When a group is removed, the blocks above drop down to fill the hole. If a column is cleared, the blocks slide to the center of the field. While removing blocks, a bar along the bottom fills with new blocks. When the bar is full, the new bblocks rise up into the game screen, pushing existing blocks toward the top. A “Lines Left” box tells the player how close they are to completing the current level. If any blocks rise to the top of the board, the level is over.

Periodically "bombs" appear mixed among the blocks. Clicking a black bomb causes the surrounding section of blocks to "blow up" and disappear. Colored bombs clear all matching blocks from the board (i.e. green bombs clear all green blocks). After successfully completing two levels, players can earn bonus points by clearing all blocks from the screen before a 15-second timer runs out.

Super Collapse! II adds three additional play modes along with the Traditional mode described above:

  • Puzzle - Advance through levels be clearing every block in a prearranged pattern.
  • Relapse - Blocks are added from the top and bottom of the screen so players must work quickly to stay in the game.
  • Strategy - Players must think ahead when removing a grouping of blocks as a new row is added to the bottom of the screen with each click.

Super Collapse! II was released in December 2002 as a deluxe downloadable game following the success of Collapse! and Super Collapse!. [edit] Tips & Tricks

  • For maximum points, concentrate on clearing all colors but one. Once that one color has built up into a large group, click the group and get big bonus points for clearing large brick combinations.
  • Point values for the big groups increase significantly after the fourth color appears (white). It's good to have a big group ready to go as soon as the fourth color comes in.
  • Bombs must be clicked to explode. If a row of blocks falls on a bomb, it will not detonate and you will lose the bomb.
  • Indestructible gray blocks cannot be removed without the aid of the black super bomb, so try to save the black super bombs to take out these blocks.
