PlayFirst is a successful casual game publisher founded in 2004 by John Welch and veterans of Internet portals, traditional game publishers, entertainment software, and technology firms. In addition to publishing third party games, PlayFirst has an internal development studio that produces about one-third of its content. PlayFirst's portfolio includes the record-breaking hit Diner Dash, which has more than 150 million plays worldwide.[1] PlayFirst is funded by venture capital firms Mayfield, Trinity Ventures and Rustic Canyon Partners.

PlayFirst was founded in 2004 by John Welch, Brad Edelman and Jason Rubinstein as a provider of simple, but challenging games that become staples of daily gaming life. One of their initial titles, Diner Dash, became a break-away hit, quickly establishing PlayFirst as a serious contender in the casual games industry.
