Description
In Peggle, players are given a number of balls to fire from the top of the screen into a pattern of colored pegs. The goal is to hit all orange pegs before running out of balls. If a ball lands in the sliding bucket at the bottom of the screen, players earn extra points and a bonus ball. When the last orange peg is about to be hit by a ball, the player is rewarded with a slow-motion zoom, flashy animations and classical music before proceeding to a bonus round called "Extreme Fever" where additional points by earned by hitting as many pegs as possible in a given timeframe.
In the main Adventure mode, Peggle has 55 levels. Each level has a particular theme (i.e. space, underwater, Halloween) featuring a Peggle Master with a unique talent. To activate the character's power-up, the ball must hit a green peg. In addition to the Adventure mode, the game has a Quick Play mode (play any previously completed level using any power-up), a Duel mode (head-to-head competition against a friend on the same PC or against the computer) and a Challenge mode (75 additional puzzles).
Background & History
