| Apple sets sales record with iPhone 3G S launch
Apple is saying they have sold one million iPhone
3GS’s during the first three days on the market. That doubles what analysts had approximated Apple would sell. Apple also says more than 6 million people have downloaded iPhone OS 3.0.
Certainly to no surprise the news sent Apple shares up almost 1 percent, after the stock had been trading down about 1 percent following a Wall Street Journal report over the weekend that said Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs had undergone a liver transplant two months ago.

iPhone 3.0 Update to be Released June 17th
Some of us (this author included) are feeling a little hard done by this morning after learning that O2 is making us stick with our 3G handsets for the duration of our contracts – but there is some good news for the non-3GS crowd.
Apple will release it’s 3.0 OS update, the same firmware that will come already loaded on the new iPhone 3GS, for all to download on June 17th – two days ahead of the release of the new handset.

Canessa leaves PopCap for Blizzard
In a move that will threaten the productivity of the whole wide world, it seems that World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has hired former Xbox Live Arcade manager and PopCap vice president Greg Canessa and has placed him in an executive position in the company.
After managing the Xbox Live Arcade ever since the release of the Xbox 360 and up until a few years ago, Canessa left his mark on the service, making it one of the most popular parts of Xbox Live and ensuring that popular titles like Geometry Wars would reach the hardcore game market. After moving to PopCap, he took care of casual hits such as Peggle, which gained critical acclaim for its addictiveness and appeal to hardcore gamers.

One Hour With: Plants vs. Zombies
First of all, let's get one thing clear: I'm a hardcore gamer who sometimes prefers pure action and adventure to puzzle titles. But this doesn't mean that I can't enjoy a good casual game every once in a while.
That's why when PopCap revealed Plants vs. Zombies, a tower-based casual title, I got pretty excited because it used one of my favorite video game features, which is fighting against zombies. The game was recently released and I had a chance to spend one hour using the green thumb in order to prevent zombies from reaching my quiet little house. Without further ado, here's my one hour spent with Plants vs. Zombies.
