Creating a new game development company article
From Casual Games Wiki
First, just to give you some perspective, here's an overview what you're going to do:
- Start a new page on this wiki by entering a link to a new page on an existing page and then clicking on that link
- Enter a special text statement into the new page and save
- (the page will be magically filled in with some boilerplate text)
- At this point, you will be all ready to fill in the page with your company's information
- There are some optional steps you can then take to improve your company's presence on this wiki. They are outlined below, after the quick start.

Quick Start
Here are the four quick steps to create a new article for a game development company:
- Click on "edit" at the top of the new company links (yes, this is the link) page. (Open the link in a new window/tab so that you can still follow these steps)
- Add a link to the new company article you want to add, e.g. [[My Company's Name]], then save the page.
- There will now be a red link to your company article on the page. Click on it.
- In the edit box, type
{{subst:boilerplate game dev company}}and save. The page will automagically fill with the game development company template! You can now click "edit this page" to start replacing the template information with your own.
Optional Improvements
Categorization
Your company's games
You can make it much easier for people to find information about your company and it's products and services by using categories.
First and foremost, you should create and use a category that marks your company's games on this wiki. For example, games made by Funkitron are all categorized, among others, under the "Funkitron Games" category (to see this in action, see the Funkiball Adventures article).
Once you've started using that category in your games articles, a category page will automatically be generated that will list your company's games on this wiki (for an example of this, see the Funkitron Games Category page).
Your company's products & services
Each company can be categorized in any or all of our three categories: Game Development Companies, Game Publishing Companies, and Game Distribution Companies.
